Your Clinic Appointment

Eye Care Appointments in Estero, FL

At Florida Vision Centers, we want your clinic appointment to feel organized, respectful, and focused on your needs. Our physician-owned and physician-led eye care practice serves patients from Estero, Bonita Springs, Naples, Fort Myers, San Carlos Park, Miromar Lakes, and surrounding Southwest Florida communities. Whether you are coming in for a routine eye evaluation, cataract consultation, glaucoma care, diabetic eye disease evaluation, dry eye symptoms, or another vision concern, our goal is to provide thoughtful, science-based care in a comfortable clinical setting.

What to Expect at Your Appointment

Your visit may include a detailed review of your medical and eye history, vision testing, eye pressure measurement, diagnostic testing when appropriate, and a comprehensive eye examination by our eye physician. Depending on the reason for your visit, your eyes may be dilated. Dilation allows the doctor to examine the retina, optic nerve, lens, and other important structures inside the eye. Because dilation will blur your vision and increase light sensitivity for up to eight hours, you may wish to bring sunglasses and arrange transportation if you are concerned about driving afterward.

Please Bring the Following

To help us provide the best care possible, please bring:

  • Your insurance cards and photo ID
  • A list of your current systemic (oral and injectable) medications
  • Your current eyeglasses
  • Actual bottles of eye drops you currently use
  • Prior eye records, if available
  • Names of prior eye doctors

If you have had prior cataract surgery, LASIK, PRK, RK, glaucoma procedures, retinal treatment, or other eye surgery, those records can be especially helpful.

Cataract and Lens Consultation Visits

If you are coming for a cataract or lens evaluation, your visit may include specialized various measurements and a discussion of lens options, also known as intraocular lenses or IOLs. Please allow for two hours for this visit.

Contact Lens Wear Before Cataract or Lens Measurements

Contact lenses can temporarily alter the shape of the cornea and affect the accuracy of measurements used for cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange, and premium lens planning.

For the most accurate evaluation, patients may be asked to stop wearing contact lenses before certain measurements:

Soft contact lenses

Usually at least 2 weeks before cataract or lens measurements.

Toric, hybrid, gas permeable, or rigid lenses

Often longer, sometimes up to 8 weeks or more depending on the lens type and corneal stability.

Our office will guide you based on your specific situation.
